Virtual Reality Co-Design Workshops
Come co-design virtual reality scenarios and training on what an enabling workplace looks like in the UK’s research & innovation sector.
Date: 21, 22, 23 January 2024
The EDI Caucus needs your input in co-designing enabling workspaces. These co-designed environments will be represented in a virtual reality tool, which will be used as training and educational tools to contribute to the future design of better and more enabling workspaces for workers in the research and innovation (R&I) ecosystem.
We want to speak to people from the research and innovation ecosystem with experience of both good and bad examples of how their workspaces are designed and function. We would like participants from a broad range of sectors and working environments including, but not limited to, researchers, scientists, lab technicians, health and safety representatives, PhD students, project managers, co-investigators, principal investigators and heads of research.
We will be conducting 2 online workshops for general admission in January 2025:
Wednesday 22 January, 14:00 – 16:00
Thursday 23 January, 14:00 – 16:00
We will also be conducting 1 online workshop for deaf BSL-users which will be facilitated in BSL by Jemina Napier:
Tuesday 21 January, 15:00 – 17:00
Please register your availability for all 3 options here: https://go.hw.ac.uk/EDICa/VR-Workshops
EDICa is committed to enabling the participation of everyone interested. We have a budget set aside to remunerate participants with a low income. We are using the Minimum Income Standard for the UK in 2023 (see link here) which says a single person on £29,500 and a couple with children earning £50,000 between them is the threshold. For these workshops (2hrs) we would provide £100 in remuneration. If you are below those limits and need remuneration for your time, you can indicate this when EDICa contacts you with the Zoom link.
