Accessibility Policy
The EDI Caucus (EDICa for short) is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible, regardless of ability or access to technology. This policy sets out how we’ve made the website compliant and user friendly. We’re constantly working towards improving our website and appreciate feedback.
Accessibility standards
This website aims to conform to level AA website accessibility standards of The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
We expect users will be able to zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen; navigate most of the website using just a keyboard; navigate most of the website using speech recognition software; and listen to most of the website using a screen reader.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability – e.g. how to add trails to the mouse pointer, or change the colour of the mouse. You can filter their how-to guides based on adjustment, condition, symptom or category (cognitive, hearing, motion, vision) – as well as by operating system (e.g. Windows 10, Android, iOS).
Images
Graphics and images on our website have alternative text, which describe the contents or function of what is displayed on screen.
We are working on providing transcripts of videos in word documents to download.
Links
Links in sentences are underlined and in a different colour. Links open in the same window unless otherwise stated.
Downloads
Downloads on our website are available as Adobe PDF files. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to access them, which you can download for free from the Adobe website.
