EDICa has designed a virtual reality (VR) simulation that helps users to understand what an ‘enabling workspace’ is. This VR was co-designed by gathering a broad collection of thoughts, feelings, and lived experiences from buildings’ users, and how their working environments affect them.
To create impact, we invited individuals with the power to facilitate change to experience this virtual reality, and take what they learn to positively impact how buildings and spaces can be designed to be more enabling.
EDICa showcased its VR through four training sessions in two locations: one in Edinburgh (on 24 Feb), and the other in London (on 5 Mar). Contact edicaucus@hw.ac.uk to enquire about bringing the workshop to your organisation.
Who should attend?

These workshops are for individuals who can affect change and contribute to enabling workspaces. This includes, but is not limited to, facilities & estate managers, engineers, architects, departmental and/or institutional leaders and advisory board members, from organisations of any size in different sectors – including research & innovation, hospitality, construction, renewables, and public services such as health & education.
Experience our virtual building and explore how you might take novel perspectives back to your organisations.
Each workshop will have a maximum of 8 people using the VR headsets. In addition, we can accommodate 8 “observers” who may prefer to take part but not use headsets. These individuals will be able to watch simul-casts of users live interactions and/or engage with a 2D version which will be separately available.
EDICa can hold workshops using the virtual reality headsets. Prices for a half day workshop start at £700 for charitable organisations. Contact us at edicaucus@hw.ac.uk for a bespoke price.
![Quote that says: "As an immersive experience, [the VR] connects the issues rather than viewing this as singular issues. The ability to think about that ‘journey’ or the ‘day in’ the environment makes it more R.W. (real world)."](https://edicaucus.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/VR-workshop-feedback-1-300x300.png)
