Home » Comic- Peer Review Panels
EDICa commissioned Dekko Comics to produce a comic depicting the kinds of discussions taking place that lead to panels favouring applications from established institutions as opposed to newer, less research-intensive ones.
Comics are a medium that can help some people better absorb and retain information.
Russell Group universities in the UK make up roughly 15% to 18% of all UK universities, and have about 30% of undergraduate students. Yet they receive more than 50% of competitive research funding. Various factors feed into this. EDICa will soon be publishing a new report on this area. But here you can read our previous report on Peer Review Bias in the Funding Process.
Feel free to use the comic, giving due credit to EDICa.
Check out our other comic strip focusing on menstrual health at work, telling Frances’ story as a technician in a research laboratory, and the DICE comic of Zara’s story– a neurodivergent interviewee navigating the recruitment process. And Alan’s story – a man with an energy limiting condition (ELC) navigating the workplace.
